Getting started
Congratulations on your new family member. Here's how the SpaySecure process works.
What is SpaySecure?
SpaySecure is the platform your breeder uses to administer the spay/neuter agreement you signed when you brought your pet home. We track your deadline, send reminders as it approaches, help you find a qualified veterinarian, and handle your documentation along the way.
The agreement exists to protect your pet's long-term health and the health of the breed. SpaySecure's role is to make meeting it as simple as possible, and to step in with support wherever we can help.
Your step-by-step process
Sign your contract
You'll receive an email link to sign your SpaySecure contract. After signing, you'll get a PDF copy (contact us if you don't receive it).

Download your forms
Get your Vet Attestation Form and learn what documentation you'll need from your veterinarian during the procedure.
Schedule and complete procedure
Book your appointment, bring your forms, and have your vet complete the attestation during the procedure.
Submit documentation
Upload your completed forms and veterinary invoice through our simple submission process.

Your contract terms
You signed a legally binding spay/neuter contract when you purchased your pet. It sets your deadline and the penalties that apply if the deadline passes.
If you miss your deadline, financial penalties accrue as set out in your contract, and you remain legally required to sterilize your pet. We would much rather help you get there. If anything is making the deadline hard to meet, contact us before it passes and we will work with you on a plan.
For the step-by-step process if a deadline passes, see our Consequences page. The full legal terms are in your signed contract.
